Finger Fun

These groups target children who are having difficulty using their hands. This may include having challenges with:

• Self care activities such as tying shoelaces, buttoning, zipping and squeezing toothpaste
  
• Classroom based activities such as using scissors, using a pencil, coloring and sharpening a pencil
  
• Using cutlery appropriately for age
  
• The manipulation and control of small objects such as pegs and coins
  
• Muscle strength throughout the whole arm including the shoulder as this provides the stable base for hand skill development
  

Length of program: 6 weeks

Duration: 1 hour

Cost: S$450 per child

The groups are led by experienced occupational therapists and focus on activities that help to develop hand function in order to improve the child’s ability to perform daily tasks as listed above. Parents will receive a summary of the program and a goals sheet. Home activity ideas will also be provided.
