The Play2Learn Group Program

This program focuses on the ability of the child to engage, self-regulate and communicate within a social setting. We believe that these skills are essential to the learning process. The program embraces the 'Floortime approach' as we believe this is an excellent learning platform for children who are showing signs of developmental differences and related learning difficulties.

Who is the group suitable for?

The profile of the children who benefit from Play2Learn may include the following:

  • Difficulty playing and communicating efficiently with peers
  • Difficulty staying focused and attentive during group activities
  • Experiencing sensory processing difficulties
  • Experiencing social communication difficulties / language delay
  • Experiencing limited success in current play group/ preschool settings

The program is designed for children aged 3 to 6 years.

How often and when does the group meet?

The group meets once or twice a week during school terms and more frequently during school holidays. Each session runs for either 1 or 1.5 hours depending on the needs of the individual children. There are 4 children in each group.

Who runs the program?

The main group leader is a senior special education teacher. The other group leaders are senior speech and occupational therapists.

For further information, please contact our office manager, who will have a group leader call you to discuss the program in more detail.
