Anita Leo

Anita is an occupational therapist with more than 10 years of pediatric experience.

Anita specialises in the use of assistive technology in the classroom and home environment and is an advocate for the inclusion of children with disabilities into mainstream education. She has conducted numerous workshops for professionals, parents, teachers and volunteers on the awareness of, and use of, accessible electronic and information technology. She has also conducted workshops on areas such as handwriting difficulties, seating assessment, wheelchair modifications and handling techniques. Anita carries out environmental accessibility assessments and provides recommendations and modifications for home, school and mulit-national organisations. She has undergone training in the field of sensory integration.

Anita is a keen advocate for the rights of people with disabilities and is very active in disability sports. She is the International Federation Disability Sports (IFDS) national classifier for paralympic sailing as well as an International Paralympics Committee (IPC) classifier for athletes. She is a clinical supervisor and has supervised students from both bachelors and masters therapy programmes.
