Suvi Pitkola

Suvi is a certified occupational and music therapist with a masters degree in counseling. She has worked with children, teenagers and their families since 1989 specializing in work with clients who have multiple challenges in developmental, sensory, emotional and behavioral areas. Suvi has a special interest in sensory integration (SI) and she has undertaken postgraduate training through the University of Southern California (USA) and Liverpool University (UK), as well as participated in numerous workshops targeting sensory defensiveness, SI treatment for autistic children and the MORE and Floortime approaches.

Suvi is trained in administering the SIPT, (The Sensory Integration and Praxis Tests). Besides SI, she has a passion for music and sound. She has completed advanced training in SAMONAS sound therapy, Therapeutic Listening and TLP (The Listening Program) and combines these approaches with her SI treatment. She is currently pursuing her PhD, researching the effectiveness of SI versus Samonas sound therapy in school-aged children.

Suvi is currently undergoing her DIR/Floortime certification.

Suvi is a director and co-owner of Kaleidoscope.
