Mairead Cushen

My name is Mairead. I'm an occupational therapist from Ireland. I completed my training at Trinity College Dublin before moving to Singapore in 2011. I gained some experience working with adolescents and adults before moving into paediatrics. I worked in the government sector in both hospital and community settings before moving to Kaleidoscope.

I place great emphasis on continued professional development and dedicate time every year to increasing my knowledge and skills. This year I spent 2 months participating in a neurodevelopmental treatment (NDT)/Bobath course with has equipped me with greater skills in working with children with neuromotor disorders. I am beginning formal training in Sensory Integration this coming January and I look forward to adding this knowledge to the sensory courses I have completed thus far.

I love to work with children of all ages. I am a firm believer in empowering parents and I prioritise helping families to carry over the skills learnt in therapy to the community and home environment.
